Syracuse field hockey’s Pieke van de Pas and Abby Neitch received Atlantic Coast Conference Player of the Week honors, the conference announced Tuesday. Van de Pas, a forward, was named the Offensive Player of the Week while Neitch, SU’s goalkeeper, earned Defensive Player of the Week. It’s the first conference award for both of them.

Van de Pas recorded two goals in a 4-1 win over then-No. 8 Louisville on Oct. 20, marking her third multi-goal game of the year. Both goals were during a four-minute span in the third quarter, expanding Syracuse’s lead to 4-0. The graduate has tallied 10 goals on the season, ranking second on the Orange, while her seven assists lead SU. Van de Pas also leads the ACC in shots on goal with eight across five conference games. Against the Cardinals, van de Pas produced five shots on goal, the most she’s notched since Aug. 27 against Vermont.

Neitch tied a career-high with four saves in her first career win over Louisville. The redshirt freshman has started the last two games, leading Syracuse to a 1-1 record in that span. Neitch made her first career start on Oct. 15 against Cornell and saved 4-of-6 shots on goal in a 2-1 double-overtime loss.
