Syracuse artist Michael Borkowski has contributed to the animation of well-known shows and comics, like “Dragon Tales,” “Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs” and “The Scooby-Doo Show.” As a longtime fan of Syracuse University sports, Borkowski has also illustrated athletics posters for SU football, basketball and lacrosse — he also used to produce a weekly Otto cartoon for Syracuse.com.

Aaron Jenkins is the owner of The Black Arts Studio, a screen printing shop that specializes in apparel, posters and graphics often for nearby business and musicians. Currently, he’s working on The Black Days Project with neighboring artist and friend Cayetano Valenzuela. Check out their printing process in the video.

Professor Sandra Lane helps trauma victims cope

Winning the American Public Health Association’s 2015 Henrik L. Blum Award for Excellence in Health Policy didn’t come easy for this Syracuse University professor. Sandra Lane is working to develop a Trauma Response Team to help those who have witnessed gang violence. Lane’s positive impact on the Syracuse community has earned her the affectionate title “fairy godmother.”
