Thousands of people pack the JMA Wireless Dome for the Red Hot Chili Peppers concert. Fans began to arrive for the concert starting at 4 p.m. on Friday.

RHCP guitarist John Frusciante enhances every song with extended guitar solos. The “Unlimited Love” tour marks Frusciante’s return to the band after stepping down in 2009.

Clouds of smoke billow onto the stage as The Strokes take to the floor. Formed in 1998, the band was met with warm applause by the audience when they came out to perform.

The Strokes guitarist Albert Hammond Jr. wears a Lou Reed T-shirt for the concert in honor of the 1964 Syracuse graduate. Reed was the guitarist, singer and principal songwriter for the Velvet Underground, to which Reed belonged.

Vocalist Anthony Kiedis greets the large crowd in attendance as he takes to the stage. Unlike bassist Flea, Kiedis remained stationary for most of the concert, as he wore a boot on his left leg and a brace on his right knee.

King Princess opens for Red Hot Chili Peppers along with The Strokes. Her dress and pastel background was a sharp contrast to the other two rock bands.

The Strokes played most of their popular songs, like“The Adults Are Talking,” when opening for Red Hot Chili Peppers. Lead singer Julian Casablancas joked with members of the crowd in between each song.
