The Syracuse Police Department responded to five reported break-ins at businesses early Wednesday morning, from between 1:34 t0 3:44 a.m., according to an SPD press release.

Officers responded to the first call in the 800 block of Wolf Street, where officers found the front windows of the property broken. SPD said it found no other signs of entry into the building.

At around 1:40 a.m., officers responded to a second call in the 34oo block of Burnet Avenue, where the business’s front door was broken. After investigation, police determined the suspects of the previous incident were involved. A vehicle belonging to the business was stolen and had been driven through the door before an attempted break-in on Wolf Street, where the stolen vehicle was discovered, according to the release.

Officers then responded to a burglary alarm around 2:05 a.m. in the 1400 block of Butternut Street. The business’s front door was broken and cash and tobacco products were stolen.

Around 40 minutes later, officers responded to another burglary alarm call on the 800 block of Butternut Street. The front door was also broken and cash and tobacco products were stolen.

SPD responded to a fifth and final call at around 3:44 a.m. in the 1200 block of South Avenue. When police arrived at the storefront, they determined the burglars had entered through a boarded-up door. Multiple items were stolen.

After a preliminary investigation, police have confirmed all five break-ins are connected. SPD’s investigation remains active and no arrests have been announced. Anyone with information can contact SPD at (315) 442-5222.
